Sara and the Dragonfly was conceived as a universe beyond the visible, where imagination, symbolism, and transformation take tangible form through objects, stories, and possibility.
The Founder
Sara and the Dragonfly was founded by María Alexandra Sinisterra from a deeply personal desire to create objects and worlds capable of holding emotion, imagination, and transformation through time. What began during motherhood as the instinct to design meaningful pieces for her daughter Sara gradually evolved into a larger creative universe shaped by storytelling, symbolism, and self expression.
As Sara grew, so did the world around her. Today, her path as an architect from MIT continues to influence the spirit of the brand through a shared sensitivity toward form, structure, space, and the emotional power design can hold in everyday life. This evolving dialogue between mother and daughter remains at the center of Sara and the Dragonfly.
Drawing from contemporary Latin sensibility and European artisanal tradition, Alexandra approaches design as a form of world building rather than product creation alone. Influenced by cinema, retro futurism, memory, and architectural language, Sara and the Dragonfly explores the space between fantasy and function, softness and structure, instinct and elegance.
Developed alongside Portuguese artisans, each piece reflects a commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship, sculptural form, and emotional resonance, creating objects intended not only to be worn, but experienced.
Where the future version of you begins. Contemporary Latin & European shoes, crafted in Portugal for those who dare to express and dream differently.
